About

I’m Brennen Slaney. I am beginning business school in the fall of 2026 and am currently an actuary in Nashville. I have worked across healthcare and life reinsurance in a variety of analytics and financial modeling roles. I am curious about learning new things by reading books, building tools and finding a deeper understanding of the world around me.

I am inherently interested in financial markets, data science, and AI, but want to get a lot deeper into the intersection of technology, energy, climate and weather as I find that a fascinating and complex problem our generation can and will solve.

I was born in Atlanta, grew up in Cincinnati, studied Finance and Applied Statistics at the University of Alabama (2016–2019), and currently live in Nashville, with a move to Boston on the horizon. Outside of work I’m a devoted Steelers fan and spend my free time hiking, traveling, reading nonfiction, and building things like this site.
